The Most Fortunate House Prophet

Family Tree

House Prophet generally chooses to trace their lineage as far back only as Sirius Prophet XXIV, to whom their Warrant of Trade was issued in 057.M41. Prior to that, their status as "Nobles" was questionable, as they were a mercantile family who made their considerable fortune through the ignoble but profitable business of exports from Fenksworld. The family still has major holdings on that planet, Quaddis, and Tarsus, as well as scattered properties in the Koronus Expanse.

The year of 720.M41 saw extensive wars of succession and assassinations in a House already in decline. Ultimately Maxmillia Prophet emerged as the new house scion, most other claimants dead. This period of the house's history is now referred to as "the Tarnishing."

Early History

Sirius Prophet XXVI born 388.M41
Myrnenes (Prophet) Haarlock born 423. Married Erasmus Haarlock in 522. Died 689.
Sirius XXVI married Erienne Voidrunner in 487. It is commonly known among the family that Erienne was in fact born Erienne Chorda, and was in hiding from her sister Aspyce.

Fredzik Prophet
Fredzik is best known for a series of mistakes involving his first born son, Sirius XXVII. Fredzik spent decades seeking a way to usurp his brother's claim to the family's leadership. His last attempt came in 489, when he induced his wife into premature labor (which she did not survive) in order to see his son born before that of his brother, giving Fredzik the right to name him Sirius, which gave him a potential claim to the family head position in the next generation.

These plans were foiled by Sirius XXVII himself, who turned to piracy, forcing him to be disowned or threaten the Prophet Warrant itself. Fredzik retired shortly after this event to the Anscestral home on Fenksworld, where he was (to all appearances) spared the wars of the Tarnishing.

Sirius Prophet XXVII
Sirius XXVII kept his name, his family's thrones, and little else from the Prophet line. No sooner did he come to captain the Tempered Steel in 539, than he turned to piracy. Sirius targets Rogue Traders to near exclusivity, apparently out of disdain for the entire profession. He has been known to say to his crew more than once: "They're nothing more than pirates with the Emperor's blessing anyway."

Sirius has sharp features and auburn hair usually worn in a short ponytail. The Prophet family disavows contact with the Tempered Steel, but it is widely known that Sirius aided his young cousin Maxmillia in the recovery of the Aurum Infinitas in 724. The Tempered Steel was destroyed by Andromedus Lan's Righteous Talon in 799, though many of the crew are suspected to have survived, including Sirius himself.

Tiberius Prophet
Born in 498, only a few weeks after the cousin Sirius who claimed the name which should have been his. It is commonly believed that his murder in 419 (attributed after the fact to the collusion of his wife Sayuri and younger brother Michayel) was the opening act of the Tarnishing.

Michayel Prophet
Born in 617, Michayel was an infant at home with wet nurses at the time his parents died. Killed during the Tarnishing.
