ZAYEL & RETINUE
Inquisitor Zayel
Zayel is the third apprentice of Lord Inquisitor Nocteun, and inherited most of his assets when the Lord Inquisitor died.
Her real name was lost when Nocteun had white wings grafted on her back, and the color bleached from skin now unearthly pale.
This terrible angel's image is very much the persona she lives, committing any act in the name of the Ecclesiarchy.
Her intense hatred for psykers is obvious, though even when condemning them her frozen voice scarcely varies pitch or volume.
A forceful personality in the Ordo Hereticus despite her soft speech,
her standing drastically increased in 777 for destroying the traitorous Nephthys a third and final time.
Darius Asher
Never did the word penitant fit a bound psyker less than Darius Asher.
Olive-skinned with the heretic's H branded on his forehead, Darius wears a collar around his neck, and is nearly ever-present at the side of Inquisitor Zayel- like any good weapon.
His presence causes a good deal of contention. Were it not for the anomoly of this psyker who should never have been allowed to live, Zayel would be the perfect Monodominant.
Darius has a deep hatred for Venris Frost.
Juliet "Jules" Verdis
Zayel does not have an Interrogator, but Jules Verdis serves a similar role. Zayel's most trusted acolyte, she is clearly second in command.
Jules was born into nobility on a pleasure world, but was disowned for not marrying her's father's chosen prospect.
She has vibrant red hair and a personable demeanor.
Johnathan Summerset
Johnathan is a handsome man with bright blue eyes and golden blond hair.
Formerly Nocteun's Interrogator, his presence with Zayel is temporary until a new master is agreed upon.
It would be easy to mistake him for a young man, did his white and gold power festooned with purity seals not tell a different tale.
He carries a bolt pistol on his right hip and a short power sword on his left.
Johnathan can be found out of his power armor as much as in it (still choosing to dress in white).
Charming and kind, he is so good natured he seems dreadfully out of place in the dark halls of Ordo Hereticus.
Johnathan takes the duties of leadership seriously. He is devout, and his answer to a great many questions comes down to faith in the Emperor. Johnathan was originally recruited from the Cadian Imperial Guard in the adjacent sector, to serve Inquisitor Hans Barrier in Ordo Malleus.
However, Johnathan eventually discovered Barrier's radical tendencies, and was apalled. He was a rogue agent for some time before eventually being persuaded to join Nocteun.
It has recently been revealed that Barrier is in fact Johnathan's father, and their divide started when old enemies of Barrier's harmed Galatea.
Galatea
It's fair to wonder if anyone knows the true identity of the Callidus assassin designated Galatea, even her.
This former member of Nocteun's retinue has been asked to infiltrate so many corrupt organizations that little remains of her sanity.
A firm believer in the sacrement of blood, Galatea relates to others largely through mimicking them.
Her psychological addition to polymorphine is tolerated only because she is such an efficient killer.
Galatea and Mira have formed a bond, much to the chagrin of Johnathan Summerset.
Johnathan and Galatea were involved during his time with Barrier, but acts commited by Barrier's enemies damaged her so greatly that she had to be mind-wiped.
Sasha Riklovich
Sasha is an ex-Hiveworld criminal from Fenksworld. She had already been outfitted with numerous augmetic upgrades,
mainly focused on enhancing reaction time when she was arrested by local law enforcement for her part in a smuggling operation. Fortunately or unfortunately, the incredibly nimble gunslinger caught the eye of one of Nocteun's agents before seeing trial.
Sasha spent the first decade of her service to Nocteun in an explosive collar. She's still less than pleased with her current predicament (too scary!), but has seen enough to know she can't escape the Inquisition now. Involved with Balas.
Sister Rachel
The most prevalent adepta chapter in the Calixis Sector is the Ebon Chalice. But Rachel comes from the Order of Our Martyred Lady.
She is quiet but stern, and possesses the requisite loathing of psykers. She would love nothing more than to see Darius Asher disposed of.
Father Cristoph
Possibly the most mediating presence in Zayel's retinue, Cristoph was placed there at the behest of her master, Nocteun.
He is a thin man with prematurely white hair and beard.
Ace Cheshire
Ascellis Cheshire has developed a healthy defense mechanism of looking out for herself and scorning just about everyone around her.
As an untouchable, she hasn't had much choice. Her attitude is tolerated mainly because she is an invaluable asset in Zayel's war against psykers.
Ace favors sleek bodygloves in unusual colors.
